The Amusing Hobby 1/35 Ferdinand 150100 German Tank Destroyer (35A044) recreates one of the most distinctive and formidable armored vehicles of WWII. Originally developed for the Battle of Kursk, the Ferdinand—named after its designer Ferdinand Porsche—was built on the unused chassis of Porsche’s Tiger prototype. Armed with the long‑barreled 88mm Pak 43/2 L/71, it delivered devastating long‑range firepower capable of destroying enemy armor before they could return fire.

The early‑production Ferdinand vehicles, including chassis number 150100, were deployed during Operation Citadel in 1943. Although lacking a hull machine gun and suffering from mechanical issues, the Ferdinand earned a reputation for exceptional firepower and heavy frontal armor. These early vehicles represent a unique and historically significant moment in German armored development.

Amusing Hobby’s kit captures the Ferdinand’s imposing presence with:

  • Highly detailed upper and lower hull components

  • Accurate early‑production features specific to the 150100 series

  • Detailed 88mm gun assembly with crisp molding

  • Realistic link‑and‑length tracks for natural sag

  • Sharp surface textures and well‑defined panel lines

  • Clean part fit for a smooth, enjoyable build

  • Ideal for Kursk‑themed dioramas and heavy weathering effects

Whether you’re recreating the Battle of Kursk or building a historically accurate early‑production Ferdinand, this kit offers a rewarding project for armor enthusiasts and collectors.
