The Dragon Models 1/35 Deutsche Afrika Korps — 5 Figures (6063) is a finely sculpted plastic figure set depicting five German soldiers of the famous Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK) as they appeared during the North Africa campaign of 1941–1943. Part of Dragon's celebrated '39–'45 Series, these figures capture the distinctive tropical uniforms, equipment, and hardened character of the men who fought under Field Marshal Erwin Rommel across the deserts of Libya and Egypt.

The DAK was formed in February 1941 and dispatched to Libya to support Italy's collapsing North Africa campaign. Under Rommel's aggressive command, the DAK pushed deep into Egypt, threatening the Suez Canal before being halted at El Alamein in 1942. The final Axis defeat in Tunisia in May 1943 ended the North Africa campaign. Throughout, DAK soldiers were renowned for their fighting skill and adaptability in extreme heat, sparse terrain, and constant supply shortages.

Key Features:

  • Five 1/35 scale plastic figures in authentic, natural combat and at-rest poses
  • Finely sculpted tropical uniforms, shorts, and pith helmets or field caps typical of DAK service dress
  • Accurately reproduced WWII German small arms including Kar98k rifles and MP40 submachine guns
  • Realistic personal equipment including bread bags, canteens, and Y-straps
  • High-quality plastic molding with minimal flash and sharp surface detail
  • Unpainted — suitable for any painting style or technique

Dragon's '39–'45 Series figures are noted for their historically accurate sculpting and natural poses. The DAK set captures the campaign-worn look of soldiers fighting in extreme heat — rolled sleeves, open collars, and the improvised approach to uniform and equipment that defined the Desert War.

Ideal For:

  • North Africa and desert war diorama builders
  • Figure painters seeking well-sculpted WWII German tropical subjects
  • Modelers animating Panzer III, Panzer IV, or StuG III builds in a desert setting
  • Collectors of Dragon's '39–'45 Series figures

Whether depicting a halt in the Western Desert, a vehicle crew at rest, or soldiers advancing through the dust, the Dragon DAK Figure Set delivers the detail and authenticity that bring North Africa dioramas to life.
