1/35 StuG.III Ausf.G INITIAL PRODUCTION (SMART KIT) - Dragon 6755

The Dragon Models 1/35 T28 Super Heavy Tank Smart Kit (6750) is one of the most extraordinary and impressive American armor models ever released in 1/35 scale. The T28 was a 95-ton assault gun conceived specifically to breach Germany's formidable Siegfried Line fortifications — the Westwall — with its 305mm frontal armor capable of defeating any known anti-tank weapon and its 105mm T5E1 gun powerful enough to demolish reinforced concrete bunkers.

Development of the T28 began in 1944 as US planners contemplated the cost of assaulting the Westwall. To keep ground pressure manageable despite the enormous weight, four tracks were used — two per side in a removable outer assembly. For road movement, the outer track bogies were detached and towed separately, reducing vehicle width. By the time the two T28 prototypes were completed in late 1945, Germany had surrendered and the vehicles were never needed operationally. One prototype was damaged in a fire in 1946 and scrapped; the other survives at the US Army Ordnance Museum at Fort Lee, Virginia — the sole physical reminder of this extraordinary engineering achievement.

Key Features:

• 1/35 scale new-tool injection-molded Smart Kit
• Correct quad-track configuration — can be built in combat (four tracks) or travel configuration (outer bogies removed)
• Turned aluminum gun barrel for the 105mm T5E1 cannon for perfect straightness and detail
• Detailed .50-cal machine gun with pedestal mount on casemate roof
• DS tracks in refined detail for all four track sets
• Positionable cupola, loader's hatch, and engine deck hatches
• Track-removal jibs and intricate external stowage boxes reproduced with crisp detail

The T28 is a subject that defies easy categorization — too heavy to be a conventional tank destroyer, too specialized to be a main battle tank. Its sheer physical presence on the modeling table is remarkable; the quad-track arrangement and massive casemate create a silhouette unlike any other vehicle in existence. Dragon's Smart Kit is the definitive 1/35 scale representation of this one-of-a-kind machine.

Ideal For:

• US Army experimental vehicle and super-heavy armor enthusiasts
• Collectors seeking the most unusual and imposing WWII prototype subjects
• Advanced builders wanting a large, complex, and conversation-starting American armor project

The Dragon T28 Super Heavy Tank is an event in the hobby — the only significant scale model of this extraordinary American engineering achievement.
