1/35 28th Infantry Division Poland 1939 – Dragon 6344

The Dragon Models 6344 1/35 28th Infantry Division – Poland 1939 is a premium 1/35 scale plastic model kit from Dragon Models, the industry leader in 1/35 WWII scale modeling.

The German invasion of Poland on 1 September 1939 — Fall Weiss (Case White) — opened the Second World War and demonstrated the speed and power of combined-arms Blitzkrieg warfare to a stunned world. The 28. Infanterie-Division was one of the German infantry formations that participated in the Polish campaign, fighting through the characteristic terrain of central Poland in the early autumn of 1939. The initial German invasion uniform — the M1936 field gray feldbluse, M1935 steel helmet, and 1936 leather equipment — gives the figures from this period a distinctive early-war character that is immediately different from the mid- and late-war appearances modelers more commonly encounter. Dragon's 6344 set provides four figures: three German 28th Infantry Division soldiers in period-accurate early-war equipment and uniforms, and one captured Polish soldier — a historically evocative combination that captures the human cost and dramatic circumstances of the Polish campaign in a single diorama vignette.
