The Jagdpanzer 38(t) — later popularly known as the Hetzer — was one of Germany's most effective tank destroyers of the Second World War. The mid-production variant, built from late summer 1944 onwards, introduced the remote-controlled roof machine gun mount, revised gun mantlet, and a number of detail changes to the vision equipment and superstructure that distinguish it from the early production vehicles. The Flammpanzer 38 was a variant that replaced the 7.5cm Pak 39 with a Flammenwerfer (flamethrower), using the same hull but with a distinctive flame projector in place of the gun. Dragon's 6845 provides a 2-in-1 kit allowing construction of either the standard Jagdpanzer 38 tank destroyer OR the Flammpanzer 38 flamethrower variant from the same box — a uniquely versatile offering.
